Engineering Goes Green

While transit in Dubai, while waiting for the ground handler to offload VIP bags from the cargo compartment, the engineering staff came and make preparation for departure, what amaze me was the tricycle that what i feel so great to be use as no pollution, available storage space for engineering equipment and provide exercise for the users too.
I think my bos should consider this too..

Take Off & Landing in Geneva

From Prague we have to go to Geneva to pick-up the VIP. I snap this photo just to share this view from the sky.

Nice cars in Rhodes

I wan walking through old town of Rhodes where i've notice this antique cars by Mazda which is still be used by the people here as means of transport, i guess the lorry cannot fit the width of the roads in between the old buildings so this is still usefull.

What more intresting is i found this Modenas bike at the entrance of Ancient Kamiros, at least now we know how far Malaysian product goes...

Rhodes, Greece April 08

Rhodes, is the largest island of the Dodecanese and fourth largest in Greece, It lies in the southeastern corner of Aegean Sea, only 20km from coast of Asia Minor.

Two days night stop here gave me chance to tour the island with the rest of the crew. In the heart of Rhodes Town there is a part called Old Town which has been built during the occupation of the Turks in 15 century.

I also got a chance to go to Kamiros which is one of the ancient cities forming the Rhodian state, it is in the west part of the island. Kamiros, one of the ancient cities of Rhodes, was built around the 7th century BC. Today after nearly 3000 years, you can still see the remains of very rich and advanced civilization that existed such a long time ago.

So i'm providing here 2 slideshow of the city and the old town plus the ruin of Kamiros.. enjoy

Pisang Goreng & Sambal Belacan in Africa

Having a breakfast in Benin Marina Hotel give me a bit of suprised, first of all they served pisang goreng or fried banana which is if in Malaysia normally served during tea time. Secondly is they also had sambal tumis & sambal belacan, i guest it is to be eaten with broil topioca which i noticed at the buffet table. But having sambal tumis with fried eggs is great too..

To be honest i'm not sure how is their belacan (prawn paste) looks like but from the taste it is very similar to those what we had back home. The sambal tumis seems like been cooked with dried prawn as well. So sambal belacan is not only in Malaysia yeah...

Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Abu Dhabi

I got a chance to fly around Abu Dhabi City and this is one of the best photo that i shoot. Sheikh Zayed Mosque which is the 3rd largest mosque in the world.

This is the photo from 2000ft above the ground.

This is the picture of the mosque about 500 ft above the ground.

Tripoli Airport

Libya is one of the country which is not really open to the world, alhamdulillah i've given a chance to place my feet there. Even for minimum rest at least i can see different culture and people.

Here is the photos of the airport taken from the cockpit as the aircraft proceed to the VIP arrival parking bay.

There is only 1 terminal, at the time of our arrival & departure the terminal is very quiet, probably we are not at the peak hours.

Here is how the check in/departure looks like.

Cappuchino Onboard Aircraft

While the crew busy attending the VIP, i prefer to help myself for whatever i need from the galley. One of it is to get myself a cup of cappuchino.

First i need heat up the milk using the steam from the nozzle of the machine, then place a coffee capsule inside the capsule holder and brew the coffee.

This facility is available on most of the aircraft with business or first class configuration, of course for VIP aircraft such as Boeing Business Jet, this is a must.

Here is the cappuchino for me....

Banjoul, Gambia Mar 13, 2008

From Dakar we went to Benin to pick up the VIP to Dakar, once we drop the VIP in Dakar we've been informed that there is no room for our 2 days stay/nightstop and later decided to fly to Gambia.

Very short flight, around 20 minutes. After secured the aircraft we leave for the hotel.
It was Sheraton Gambia, facing the Atlantic ocean.

Here is some of the pictures of the room and around the hotel.

There suppose to be a LAN internet connection in the room but is doesnt work, wireless available at the lobby and from the bar.

Dakar, Senegal Mar 11, 2008

There is an Islamic Summit in Dakar, Senegal & we brought one of the VIP to the meeting. As we leave the aircraft the handling agent told us that we going to the ship for our nightstop. At first i thought he's joking. The bus ride took about half an hour and as we realise later on

that we are on the way to the port, so this guys probably not joking then but still in my mind probably the hotel is near the port.

As the crew bus stop at the port next to a cruise ship, then i realised it is not a joke. We really going to stay in the ship. Later on we found out that there is not enough hotel in Dakar to accomodate all the guest to the summit so the organiser charter a cruise ship for extra accomodation for the guest especially the delegation and crew. The name of the ship is Musica.

So here is some of the pic from the ship, the room is nice even it's pretty small, but very clean and tidy. There is LAN for the internet, no wireless detected.

Too bad that we only stay for 1 night and it was early morning departure for us the next day but staying overnight is a ship is a very unique as far as my trip is concern so far.. Enjoy..

This is the lobby of the ship.
